Many people want to get into better shape and believe that it’s necessary to have a gym membership. While going to a gym to workout is a great way to do it, it’s not the only way. There are plenty of exercises you can do around you own home to help you get fit. All you need are some dumbbells and you can do endless exercises at home. Let’s take a look at a few things you can do.
The first exercise you can do is alternating bicep curls. Take a weight in each hand and curl it up while not allowing your elbow to move forward. Many people make the mistake of allowing the elbow to move while doing curls. This takes emphasis off the bicep and allows the muscle to rest at the top of the motion. Also make sure that with each rep you go all the way back down to the starting position, which is with your arm straight at your side.
The next workout is for shoulders. Take a dumbbell in each hand help at your sides and lift them straight out to each side of your body. You will need to use a light weight for this one, about 10 pounds. Hold the weight for 1 second with arms parallel to the ground and return them slowly to the starting position. This will work the side deltoid.
There are many exercises that can be done with some adjustable dumbbells you just have to make sure you motivate yourself to get up and do them. It works best if you schedule a time that you will lift everyday.
